Standard Oil Company was born; this was a business venture that Rockefeller took up along with his brother and other partners. He was highly competitive and made cut throat decisions to buy out other oil refinery companies. Indeed, after several years Rockefeller was able to monopolize the petroleum industry in America.
At the very height of his business, Rockefeller was worth approximately $1 billion. The great thing about Rockefeller is that even though he was widely known to make aggressive decision when it comes to his business, he remained to have a soft heart with helping people. He never lost his desire to help and share whatever he has. He was great businessman, but he was also a philanthropist by heart.
